ZëBB Academy in the Sszeans sessions
at CarbonBar, Kolartorp, SWE. 4-5 Jan. 2008.
Beginning the new year by switching a flickering light
on what was left and what is right beyond.
In the middle was the core of the ZëBB sound and visuals.
Strange but yet familiar, drastic and subtle at the same time.
Suggestive, horrifying, funny and beautiful.
This time we also had all out live video mixing in parallel
with the sound.
Recalling my own memory, this is the first winter without a
white and gentle layer of snow on the ground.
Most of the long lost persons that we visited during
the Sszeans sessions, were complaining about this.
We were told that they didn´t get the same peace and
tranquillity, that they were used to in winters, when
graveyards were covered in white.
There was an eager wish for an ice storm to rise.
ZëBB Academy took that note, and dressed up to cope
with the expected temperature drop.
The electronics generated some heat though, and we
survived the night.
The Sszeans sessions came out in three distinct parts.
First there was an ambient mood with The Homeglass and
Epoxymix. Then there was a brutal and nervous, hi-energy
race with rec&gnizer and rec&.
The main Sszeans was a long and mesmerizing trail, that
are compiled here in Hypnagogan, Theb Drop, Six feet for Miles,
Läppen the Lip and DubLuguber.
The drink of the night was Warzaw, with a deep and raw,
somewhat alienated taste.
It´s like something You wouldn´t like to miss in front of
an ice storm. The recipe is in our drinklist (tab above).

ZëBB Academy pushes a heavy beat to the point
of self-generation.
Bodies tend to sway with it, so it´s not a perfect
day for fragile valuables in your neighbourhood.
Watch out though, there´s an edge right to the left
of Your right ear.
That might just be the edge of the other side.

ZëBB Academy´s got a strange habit of keeping
old phones in the fridge.
One of these phones is kind of blue, and it rang
during the Sszeans sessions 4-5 Jan. 2008.
A trumpet answered from the other side, and it
sounded just six feet away.
From the other end of the unplugged phone cable.

ZëBB Academy welcomes You to Ms. Luguber´s
long forgotten dubdiner, where the menu is too
hazy to read, and the exit is the main entrance.
This is the ending part of the Sszeans sessions,
that was recorded 4-5 Jan. 2008.
At the end of this set, you can actually hear the
hard disc go down. It crashed and sounds out
similar to Ms. Luguber´s own confusing food-calls
in her ever disappearing dubdiner.

Be careful with this capricious driver,
who thinks his old car is a sputnik.
ZëBB Academy backs him up when he plays
a trombone solo, and then takes him through
the bumpiest barmixing ever seen!

This guy realizes that he has wasted his life
outside an ice-cream.
Here he is just trying to get home again.
The year 2008 is taking it´s first stumbling steps
out of nowhere,
just to find ZëBB Academy opening the Sszeans sessions
with this set.

ZëBB Academy succeeds in catching this rabbit,
leaving a smell of burned feet.
This white rabbit went black and back.
